Kristen Smith is an Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist. The majority of her work as Manager of Mental Health Promotion is to Chair the Butler County Suicide Prevention Coalition. The Coalition is an initiative of Envision Partnerships which has six task forces including the Butler County LOSS/DOSS Team. Additionally, she is a QPR Gatekeeper Instructor and coordinates training efforts for the county. She teaches the evidence-based Lifelines suicide prevention training for youth grades 7-12 in the county. Her passion for suicide prevention has grown from working with many teens whom faced mental health crises and others who have lost someone to suicide.
Jennifer comes to Envision Partnerships with 15+ years of community volunteer coordinating experience. After losing her husband to a sudden heart attack in 2011 she attended GriefShare and she and her 2 sons attended Fernside - A Grieving Center for Children. Because of her own experience with grief she became a GriefShare facilitator for 2+ years and is currently a grief facilitator at Fernside. Her passion for helping others walk though the grief journey along with her organizational skills are what lead her to become the Butler County LOSS/DOSS Team Coordinator.
